Three New Online Slots from Microgaming

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Microgaming continues its reign as the world’s largest online gaming software provider with the release of three new feature-heavy video slots. The new online slots, Scoop the Cash, Jewels of the Orient and Lumber Cats, are the latest to be added to Microgaming’s library of over 350 online casino games.

Scoop the Cash is a game-show themed slot is a five reel, 25 payline, multi-feature slot that looks kind of like Monopoly on steroids. According to the press release, “Scoop the Cash is a colorful slot machine with images of cash, money, safes, dice and more.” Scoop also doles out plenty of free spins that offer double prizes.

Jewels of the Orient invites players to fly a magic carpet and experience the “secrets of the exotic East.” This five reel, nine payline video slot takes players on a rollicking journey from the plains of India to the mountains of Japan. It promises beautiful scenic graphics and exotic characters.

Last but not least is Lumber Cats. Boy oh boy am I excited about Lumber Cats. Not only does this online slot have a name reminiscent of my favorite ’80s cartoon, but I am a huge fan of quirky ideas. Lumber Cats online video slot is about big cats that cut down trees. The brightly colored online slot features three quirky axe-wielding cats, tractors, logs and offers “prizes and free re-spins galore.”

Microgaming’s software powers more than 160 online casinos including Alljackpots.com, Allslots.com and Jackpotcity.com.

Online Slot Tournaments Ongoing at Millionaire Casino

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Millionaire Casino is one of those online casinos that loves to host tournaments. After all, they tend to attract business, which is good for the casino, are lots of fun, which is good for the players, and provide a constant supply of press releases, which is good for the PR department. Everybody wins.

Right now there are several tournaments going on at Millionaire Casino. Ending today is the week-long Slot-tery event, an online slot tournament played on the Fat Cat game. The prize pool is made up of the collected pot and 35% will go to the first-place winner, 20% to the player who finishes second, and 10% to the third-place player. Fourth prize is 10% and is shared by the next two finishers, fifth prize is 5% split among five players, sixth prize is 5% shared by 10 players, seventh prize shares 5% among 20 players, eighth prize splits 5% among 60 players, and ninth prize splits 5% among 100 players. So, as you can tell, a lot of people will win something.

Aside from the Slot-tery event, there are multiple small daily online tournaments, which feature a $2 buy in and have prize pools that are shared by 40 players. These tournaments are played on online slots as well as table games like poker and blackjack.

In addition to the daily tournaments, there are two tournaments running from September 18 to September 20. The first is a video poker tournament played on the game Deuces Wild, which has a $10 entry fee and a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool. The second tournament is played on Blackjack Vegas Strip, with a $10 entry fee and a $5,000 guaranteed prize pool.

To participate in the tournaments, visit Millionaire Casino.

Golden Casino Features Dennis Rodman Online Slot

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

I love it when companies decide to honor fine, respectable citizens with endorsement contracts. Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen often. Instead, we see endorsements for the likes of Allen Iverson, Tony Stewart and Kobe Bryant. Even Ray Lewis has lucrative endorsement deals despite being involved in a murder. Golden Casino has an online slot featuring another bad apple, though at least, to my knowledge, he has never been involved in anyone’s death.

Dennis Rodman Slots is a popular title at Golden Casino and is being featured in a slot tournament this week. It is a five-reel online slot featuring Rodman’s ugly mug, basketballs, and other symbols. And because I’m sure you were wondering, yes, there is a picture of Rodman in a wedding dress. It’s actually the bonus symbol.

In bonus games, players earn extra coins by headbutting officials, kicking cameramen, and shooting an air ball from the free throw line…Okay, actually I made up all of those bonus games, but it would be fitting. Back during his playing days, there was a debate about whether Rodman was good or bad for basketball. Those who supported him said that the game needs a villain and Rodman was the perfect choice. Those who were against him were offended that they had to pay $50+ for tickets to see a punk like Rodman make millions playing a game that he doesn’t even really care about. One thing is certain, though. Rodman was always a controversial figure. Controversy sells, and that’s likely the reason for the online slot’s success.

What makes me curious, though, is why the online slot features something Rodman didn’t do very well (playing basketball), but does not represent either of Rodman’s greatest achievements. When I think of Rodman’s accomplishments, I think of his starring role in Double Team, the action movie masterpiece that paired him with fellow thespian-extraordinaire Jean-Claude Van Damme. His other great accomplishment was briefly dating Carmen Electra. Sure, Electra is kind of weird and freaky (she is, after all, married to Dave Navarro), but she’s weird and freaky in a hot kind of way. Rodman, on the other hand, well, I can’t think of an accurate way to describe him that can be printed in Gambling Review.

For whatever reason, Golden Casino decided not to feature his acting or dating accomplishments in the Dennis Rodman online slot. Fans of Rodman, if such a thing exists, can still play the game if they can handle seeing his face that many times without having nightmares. There is, of course, a reward for that bravery. The current tournament has a $5,000 prize pool. So if you’re in the mood for The Worm, dye your hair, get tatted up, put in your piercings and start wagering on the Dennis Rodman Slots at Golden Casino. Just remember to leave your bad attitude behind when you log off of the site, because not all dirty, narcissistic, vulgar, mean-spirited egomaniacs get to go out with women that look like Carmen Electra.

Lucky Nugget Offering You’re a Winner Promotions

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

I don’t know if you’re like me, but I hate getting free stuff. I take offense to anyone giving me something I didn’t pay for, as if I’m someone that needs charity. I can take care of myself, thank you very much. That’s why I’m angry with Lucky Nugget online casino for their current You’re A Winner promotions. It makes me sick, really, just giving stuff away to players.

From September 7 to September 10, ten “lucky players” will win free spins worth 50 credits every day for doing absolutely nothing other than playing the games they would play anyway. To be eligible for the daily random drawing of winners, all you need to do is wager at least 55 credits on one of Lucky Nugget’s online slots. Once they’ve done that, all they have to do is enter their account number, submit themselves to the drawing, and then stand there with their hands out.

The same contest runs from September 14 to September 17, but to be eligible this time, players need to wager 400 credits on an online slot. At least they have to risk a little something this time. Sheesh! The free credits for both contests, as usual, come with the stipulation that you have to wager them 30 times before cashing them out, so you’re being given free credits to wager and make (or lose) more money, not just to have free money to take home. At least that is good news.

For those charity cases who need someone else to help them out, there are also Loyalty Points Galore Weekend Tournaments. The tournaments run from September 11 to September 13, from September 18 to September 20 and from September 25 to September 27. The top ten players in each tournament split 100,000 loyalty points. That’s right. They’re just giving loyalty points away to the top players in the tournaments, players who probably already won a decent amount of money. What are these people in Lucky Nugget casino doing? Why don’t they just write you a check for next month’s rent? I’m sure that would help, too.

Maybe I should calm down a little. I suppose this promotion is a good thing for people who like freebies. Myself, I would rather be self-sufficient. Free bonuses? No thank you. I’ll wager my own money, Lucky Nugget casino. I don’t need yours. If you feel differently, though, be sure to head to Lucky Nugget online casino, because they’re giving things away like crazy.

VIP Slots Perhaps Profiting on Pirate Popularity

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Thanks to Johnny Depp, pirates are cool right now. Walt Disney World has even added an expensive feature where little boys can play dress up and get dressed and made up like a pirate. Even the Somalis have gotten in on the craze by hijacking ships left and right. Online casinos are always quick to jump on these kind of trends and many have released pirate-themed online slots.

The newest online slot tournament offered by VIP Slots online casino is the Treasure Island Tournament, which should be a treat for any Robert Louis Stevenson fans. Since this is 2009, though, and most people don’t read, I should inform you that Robert Louis Stevenson is an author. He wrote a book called Treasure Island. It’s about pirates and buried treasure. For those of you who are really young, a book is kind of like Kindle, except it has physical pages that you turn by hand.

The Treasure Island Tournament, which features the online slot X Marks the Spot, runs for the entire month of September and has a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000. The leader board format awards prizes to the top 275 players, with the first place player winning a big $50,000 and the second place finisher earning $20,000.

X Marks the Spot is a 5-reel, 20-payline online slot with a pirate theme and a jackpot of up to 4,000 coins. It also features a bonus round where players try to find hidden treasure marked by an X, a trope in pirate tales popularized by the book Treasure Island. Again, a book is kind of like a podcast, but instead of hearing it, you read it yourself.

If you can tear yourself away from your iPod and Kindle and want to participate in a pirate-themed online slot tournament, stop by VIP Slots online casino today.

Golden Casino Offers New Online Slot Tournaments

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Golden Casino has two online slot tournaments this month with a theme relating to major holidays, Labor Day and the NFL’s opening day. Okay, the kickoff of the National Football League isn’t officially recognized as a holiday, but it may as well be. Surely more people watch the football game than the parades during Thanksgiving. Most of America can’t wait for football season to begin again as soon as it ends, which includes Brett Favre even after he retires.

Labor Day in the United States is the first Monday in September and it is a celebration of American laziness by picking a day where no one works. Actually, I think the holiday has something to do with unions or something like that, but to most Americans, all it means is it’s a Monday where you don’t have to work. Good news! That gives you more time to gamble!

Starting tomorrow and running through September 11, Golden Casino is running the Labor Day Week Long Tournament. The tournament has a $100,000 prize pool, with the winner earning $35,000 and each of the top 500 finishers taking some kind of prize.

The NFL season begins on September 10, as does Golden Casino’s Countdown to Kickoff online tournament. The online slot tournament has a football theme and a $2009 prize pool. Players can pass the time during commercial breaks by making bets ranging from a penny to $10. In a game, between defensive powers Pittsburgh and Tennessee, that is expected to have a lot of punts and thus, a lot of commercial breaks, hitting the slot tournament could be a good way to keep yourself entertained.

To celebrate either American laziness or the return of concussions and countless people overrating Tom Brady, visit Golden Casino.

Golden Casino’s September to Remember

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

Wouldn’t it be great if online casinos just gave away cash with no strings attached? Well, the good news is that one just did. The bad news is that you probably missed it. Sorry. I would’ve told you sooner if I had known.

Golden Casino launched their “September to Remember” promotion yesterday. Part of the promotion involved giving away money. Yesterday Golden Casino held the One Day Only Mystery Event. Online casino players were encouraged to contact the customer support department and claim the Pick a Door, Any Door bonus. I bet you can guess what the game was… That’s right. There were three doors, each with some amount of cash behind it, and players who redeemed the code got to pick one of the three doors and keep any cash hidden behind the door. They did not have to wager the money and risk losing it. It was really free money. If you missed out on the chance, be sure to sign up for Golden Casino’s mailing list so you can be updated on all of their promotions.

Aside from the One Day Only Mystery Event, Golden Casino is running another promotion all this week. Yesterday began the September Kickoff $10,000 Guaranteed tournament. To participate in the tournament, players need only make a $9.99 deposit and start with a balance of $300. That money must be wagered at least 20 times before any prizes can be claimed. The online slot tournament also has an unlimited number of re-buys.

With online casinos hurting for businesses, look for an increased number of promotions across the board. So far it seems that Golden Casino has found the best promotion. I certainly can’t think of a better one than giving away free money. To enter the September Kickoff $10,000 Guaranteed tournament, visit Golden Casino today.

Online Slots Tournament at All Slots Casino

Thursday, August 20th, 2009

All Slots online casino has an online slot tournament running from August 18 to August 24. The tournament, cleverly titled the Slots All Stars Competition, is a leader board type of competition. To qualify for the competition, players must buy and wager at least 50 credits on other games at All Slots online casino, which, contrary to the company’s name, includes more than slots. Players can earn their spot by wagering credits in games of poker, blackjack, roulette and more.

During the Slots All Stars Competition, players earn 1 point per 50 credits wagered, 1 point for every 50 credits won and they lose 1 point for every 50 credits lost. At the end of the competition, the top players on the leader board split a 10,000-credit prize pool, with the top 100 players taking some kind of prize. The first place winner earns 1,000 credits.

The winners will have the prizes credited to their accounts, where they can use the credits to play more online slots for a chance to win big money. Or lose big money. That’s how it goes with online slots. Like with many casino bonuses, the players must wager the prize credits 30 times before they can make a withdrawal. The competition started 2 days ago, but for any online slot fans, there is still plenty of time to join and win, thanks to the large prize distribution.
