Call me old fashioned, but to me, parties are something that are best experienced in person. The “Internet Party” whether it’s something you’ve experienced or laughed at on an episode of the Office is one of those existential anomalies that just might catch on…or be incredibly lame. But I also thought IM was a stupid idea. Why would I type to someone when I have a G-D telephone and I can speak to them? So when I ask, “Why go to an online party where I might end up having cyber sex with a man when I could go to a real party and actually meet people, then go home alone and cry myself to sleep because nobody will date me?” (Too real for you?)

Buzzluck claims to be “The World’s First Online Supercasino” and this Saturday, September 12 at 9PM BST, they are planning to launch their newly revamped Live Lounge for a new season. They promise a new format, good times and best of all…cash prizes! I have to say that their interface is fairly engaging and they are doing their best to separate themselves from the pack. I don’t know how one defines “supercasino,” but Bobby Brown says he’s the King of R&B and even though he gave that title to himself, who are we to argue?

At the center of the online casino party, titled “LIP Service” is comedian/host Ian O. who hosts a talk-soup-like live show where funny clips from the internet are picked and screened. Meanwhile, the viewers can chat with him and comment. Kind of like a sex chat room, except it features a middle-aged, amiable European guy.

Whether or not this online casino party is cool or not remains to be seen, but what is true is that LIP Service CEO and eGaming 2.0 CEO Alex Czajkowski (whose name I think I am spelling correctly, but have no hope of pronouncing) sounds like he is coked up out of his mind if you read this quote with the proper amount of enthusiasm.

“What good is going to a party where you sit there on your hands and don’t say anything all night,” says Czajkowski. “LIP Service is not passive entertainment but alcohol-fueled mayhem on both sides of the screen, with people screaming with laughter into their PCs and pounding away on their keyboards in ‘chat.’ The best reason to stay home on a Saturday night in the UK since ‘Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’… or maybe ‘Noel Edmond’s House Party.’ And like my old favorite ‘Talking Telephone Numbers,’ you can win real cash.”

“An online supercasino exists for one reason,” said Czajkowski, “to entertain its players. While plenty of sites can give you classic casino games to play, only Buzzluck.com has live entertainment with audience participation. It is these innovations that separate the same-old, same-old from the new, the 1.0 from the 2.0, and the casino from the supercasino. And Buzzluck.com from everybody else.”

So if you’re curious and alone on Saturday, why not give this a shot? I know that I’m not invited to any parties this weekend and if you’re like me, this might be a great opportunity to have a good time! Online casino parties could be the next IM, or it could just mean that you are so alone and your computer is your only friend, but you never know until you try, right?
