Deadbeat Dads Added To Casino Bill?

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

There have been some and just in twists and turns as Barney Frank’s
bill makes its way through Congress. This bill, aiming to regulate
online casinos within the United States has a number of different
supporters from across the nation. Some representatives threw their
two cents out there as to certain ways to amend or improve the online
casino regulation bill.

One such suggestion involved in that amendment that would have
Internet casino gambling sites be required to deny access to parents
who are not fulfilling their child support requirements as part of
their licensing agreement. This is a rather unorthodox proposal, but
it definitely could result in a number of different levels of progress
for the bill since it involves some exciting and innovative concepts
when it comes to accountability for parents.

Internet casinos should take responsibility for trying to determine
which customers are quoted” deadbeat dads and they should be denied
access to their online casinos. If not, they should face fines and
different sanctions and suspensions. Some analysts have thought that
this particular proposal is quite similar to the trouble some UIGEA,
but others are comforted by the unusual and possibly highly effective
manner that could curb problem gambling incidents and help track the
financial activity of parents who are not living up to their
responsibilities. The aim of Rep. Barney Frank’s bill is to render the
UIGEA null and void. This is one of the main roles since this piece of
legislation has been found to be so ineffectual and hard to enforce.

U.S. Gambling Laws Backfire

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

It seems that one of the worst things that could happen to the business of online casinos is for the government to impose unfeasible restrictions on proper and high quality internet transaction companies so that they are forced to leave the industry. What will be left for online casino players to do their business with is the bottom of the barrel and a bunch of shady companies that do not have consumers’ best interests in mind in any way, shape or form. The government is walking a bit of a tight rope in terms of trying to curb internet casino gambling activity while also trying to protect consumers from fraudulent companies. This is not an issue that will go away as long as unenforceable and unrealistic and ineffective laws like the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act are in place. It is that simple.

Most operators of online casinos that care about the well being of their customers have made sure to weed out the troublesome payment processors so that their players can deposit, withdrawal and start up accounts with an easy mind, knowing that their personal and private financial information will be kept confidential at all times.

When government regulations end up forcing upstanding companies to withdraw from the internet casino gambling business, that means that terrible and sneaky, underhanded companies will step in to take their place. And this makes it a lose-lose situation for everyone involved. This plan will backfire and make it so that the incidents of money laundering and shady transactions through casino sites will actually increase. Some of the shady companies are super savvy at leaving behind no paper trail. They will just take the money and run.

EU Demands Casino Reform From U.S.

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

The ban of online casinos within the United States has been receiving a great deal of criticism for the ineffective and illogical policies that are in place. Many of the naysayers are politicians and gaming activists within the United States but there are other international operators and organizations that have come out to speak against the horrible policies also. One such body is the European Union. The EU has started to try to throw its weight behind the online casino reform efforts in America that have been led extensively by Representative Barney Frank.

Since the United States has a considerable amount of interest in maintaining strong relations with the European Union in terms of keeping up a consistent feeling of goodwill and also in regard to maintaining strong trade relationships, it is in America’s best interest to heed the suggestions thrown out by the EU as far as online casinos are concerned.

The EU has come out with some urgent suggestions that the United States needs to end its efforts to place some sort of lockdown prohibition on the online casino gambling market in America because keeping it going is in direct violation of international trade agreements that every country invested in the relationship between America and the EU are intensely concerned about.

The United States Justice Department and the Bush Administration have seemingly done everything they can to block internet casino gambling within the United States. For the most part those efforts have been largely terrible and ineffective. Still just their mere existence is not good for EU-American relations and that needs to be addressed.
