Mac Users Gain Access At Ultimate Bet

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

For some fans of online casinos, getting a chance to play their favorite games from their own personal computer is truly a phenomenal experience. For other online casino gamers, the experience can be somewhat less gratifying if the sites they wish to play at have software that is not fully compatible with their home computer. More often than not, it is the players who own Mac computers who tend to run into this problem when it comes to their casino gambling adventures.

Well, there is some good news for the Mac users who frequently pay visits to Ultimate Bet, one of the top online poker rooms in the business. They now have some fancy Mac-compatible software. Many online casinos and poker rooms tend to ignore these sorts of issues and they just set up the most basic software package offering and for those who cannot use it, tough cookies. That is not the case at Ultimate Bet. They have responded well to the feedback they received from players who were bummed out that the casino poker software was not working with their Mac platform.

But now that is all in the past and players can gain the full range of access to all of the games they love at Ultimate Bet. This new Mac-compatible software is available via a quick and easy download and it includes a wide array of awesome adventures including ring games, single and multi-table Texas Hold’em tournaments, satellite competitions and single-player blackjack. What more could you possibly want in an online poker room experience? This is great news for everybody who wants a greater level of access to their favorite casino and poker games from Ultimate Bet.

Kopp Scores Sweet Spot With Ultimate Bet

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

It is a good time to be named Billy Kopp. If you were Billy Kopp you would be wearing a dazzling smile and giving yourself a congratulatory pat on the back for being named recently to the highly formidable online poker team Team UB. This team, representing UltimateBet.com, is one of the top forces among fans of online casinos and poker rooms. Kopp joins the lineup of hugely successful professional players such as Annie Duke and Phil Hellmuth.

Most fans of online casinos would give their left pinky toe in order to be in his position and he does not take this incredible success and level of recognition that he has recently attained for granted. He performed remarkably well in the most recent World Series of Poker held in the heart of Las Vegas. As a student from the University of Kentucky, he has managed to rake in more than $2.6 million over the course of only a few brief years. He has been around the scene at both online casino poker sites and at some highly competitive and visible land-based casino gambling events.

Many people who follow the casino business can now recognize his face and/or his name. That pretty much means that a player has officially “arrived” and this recent membership to the Ultimate Bet team is just one more testament to his highly respected skill in the game of poker. He is known for his loose and somewhat aggressive style of playing that he uses to intimidate his opponents from time to time. He even managed to get the best of Peter Eastgate who took home the top prize in the World Series of Poker back in 2009.

And that is exactly what an online casino player named Billy Kopp is in possession of that helped to set him apart from his competitors to earn an impressive spot on the UltimateBet.com’s formidable Team UB. This means that he will be playing alongside the likes of professional poker players, and, let’s face it, legends, Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.

What has happened for Billy Kopp is the dream of most any fan of poker and online casinos. It would seem almost too good to be true but since Kopp wowed the crowd in his performance at the most recent World Series of Poker held in the heart of Las Vegas, he has been on a roll. Kopp was able to finish in the 12th spot at that competition. When you think about the fact that the best of the best poker players from all over the world were joined there to go for the glory, coming out among the top 12 contenders when all is said and done is a truly remarkable feat.

Obviously, he garnered a lot of attention for how well he was able to do. He does not take any of this positive recognition for granted and is extremely pleased and excited to be a part of the poker team magic at UltimateBet.com. He was so close to earning a spot in the main event which is scheduled to take place later on this fall, but it just didn’t happen this time. It did, however, leave a fierce fire in his belly that he will try to direct in an effective way when the World Series of Poker 2010 rolls around next summer.

Shady Deals at Ultimate Bet Taken Into Question

Thursday, December 25th, 2008

After the “60 Minutes” special dedicated to cheating scandals that features the popular online poker rooms Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet, the sites have been trying hard to regain their place in the online gaming market. They have been going to great lengths to assure their loyal players that any problems that may have occurred in the past have been resolved. They went so far as to form the Cereus Poker Network to work along with the Kahnawake Gaming Commission to fix the situation. But, alas, now it appears that brand new allegations have risen to the surface against Ultimate Bet.

This past weekend, a hand that was played online resulted in the player who lost the hand getting awarded the pot instead of the true winner. Scandal! As soon as the officials at the Ultimate Bet forum were made aware of the situation, the moderator deemed the incident a “software glitch” and promised that it would be looked into.

Reprints of the hand in question show that the losing player who ended up with the pot was poker legend and Ultimate Bet spokesman Phil Hellmuth. To complicate matters further, the hand was played in a very unusual way. Doubleballer, Hellmuth’s opponent in the game had the king of diamonds and the queen of hearts in his hand. And then the flop came out king-king-jack, rainbow. Doubleballer raised before the turn and the river and then Hellmuth went and called. He saw a two and a nine that left him without any flush possibilities. Doubleballer bet on his three kings at the showdown. The Hellmuth mucked after he called. But he ended up with the cash prize instead of Doubleballer. Glitches like these are coming up more and more on Ultimate Bet.
