Station Casinos Inc. Begins Lawsuit

It seems that there is finally some direct conflict taking place between online casinos and land based casinos within the heart of Las Vegas. Although the reports are relatively new and the details are little worry, it seems that one of the powerhouse land based casino operators located in Las Vegas, Station Casinos Inc. has launched a very serious loss against two different online casino gambling websites. One of these gambling sites is based in Britain and the lawsuit was filed in the district court within the US located in the state of Nevada earlier this past week. The allegations involve the two sites using Station Casinos Inc. trademarks while at the same time directing customers away from their business.

With the dramatic rise in fall of land based casino operations throughout the United States and all around the world, it makes sense that they would try to fire back against online casinos for taking a huge chunk of their business. Even though we are still suffering through a blistering and seemingly endless economic recession, it cannot be discounted that Internet casino business is desperately pull the carpet out from under many formerly thriving land based casino businesses.

This most recent lawsuit involves S.L. Enterprises and Ryan Murphy. It’ll be interesting to see how this lawsuit develops as we move forward into the future. This could be a very important case for other issues or conflicts that develop in the ambling industry further on. Apparently some controversy involves how much these casino operations or payouts to the winners of their jackpot prizes. It will be interesting to see how the courts handle this particular scenario.

While many online casinos continue to thrive despite the substantial setbacks that have been brought forth thanks to the bleak and seemingly endless economic recession, land based casinos such as those in the heart of Las Vegas have not fared quite so well. Online casino competition in addition to the drop in disposable income among many Americans and other people from all corners of the globe have brought about much lower numbers in terms of revenue for Las Vegas casino operations.

It seems that one of the local gaming leaders, Station Casinos Inc., recently announced that their second-quarter financial losses were more than anybody had thought they would be. The cost associated with the Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization that the company has undergone profound a huge decrease in quantity of revenue the company was able to amass. Altogether, the loss is right around $38 million.

All of the year financial situation or land based casinos has yet to really trickle down into the market of online casinos, many Las Vegas operations have taken huge hits. Most recently, one of the top gaming leaders in the heart of Las Vegas, Station Casinos Inc., announced that their second-quarter loss in revenue increased by a substantial amount.

This revenue decline is directly related to the Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization that came about at a price tag of just about $38 million. This is definitely a hard road for many land-based gambling operators to go down and Station casinos has definitely not managed to stay immune to these financial woes. In addition to the bankruptcy reorganization for Station, the intense competition posed by online Casino gambling sites has definitely played a major role as well.

Sometimes it is just simply too difficult of a task for land-based casino operators to be able to compete on the same level with operators of online casinos. From this quarter, Station reportedly lost an astonishingly bleak $69.6 million. That’s nearly 4,000,000 more than the company lost back in the second quarter of 2009.

Overall, net revenue dropped 12.6%. Many people within the gambling industry looked toward recession as one of the main contributing factors for these tough financial scenarios. Everybody’s trying to figure out when and where and how S. solid and feasible economic recovery is going to take place. Sometimes, when we get news like this, it still feels a long ways off. Hope fully the 18 Las Vegas area casinos, restaurants, entertainment venues, and hotels associated with this company will be able to get back on track sometime in the near future.
