Casino Prospects Unsure In Nevada

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Although the nature of online gambling and activity at online casinos in America may have to take a backseat considering the recent win of so many Republicans in America, speculation is still running rampant in the heart of Nevada. The topic of legislation and legalizing online casino gambling has been all over the news and gambling industry in the state of Nevada.

Although many politicians were focused on the more heavier issues such as the economy, foreign policy, and healthcare, there is still a lot to be said for the revenue potential that would come about via the legalizing of Internet casino gambling sites within the United States. Right now, as the law currently stands, the American economy is missing out on a great deal of potential funds because we do not have a fully licensed and regulated casino gambling industry.

Some politicians have indicated that Nevada should do its best to exploit the market of online casinos as much as possible. Other operators within the heart of Las Vegas and all over the state of Nevada have indicated that they will stand in opposition to liberalizing the policies for Internet casino gambling in America.

Many gambling operators are very threatened by the prospect that these sorts of developments could hold for them in terms of loss of revenue. Some land based casino operations have had to shut down completely as they have not been able to withstand the intense competition that has been posed by Internet casinos. All in all, it is too early to determine just what our recent elections held will impact the gambling is this. But there is a great deal of reason and cause for concern.

Online Gambling Community Watching Intently as Democrats Take Over the House and the Senate.

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Now that the election has finally come to a close, the spotlight will shift from the celebrity and glamour of the race to the White House to the democrats who will rule the roost in both the Senate and the House. The online gambling community will be watching and waiting to see whether or not these politicians will back up their promises with real action in terms of undoing all of the damage Republicans have wrought in recent years.

Representative Barney Frank has insisted that they will eventually push for Internet gambling to be legalized and regulated with legislation that makes logical sense. Another important quality the new legislation much have is that it be feasible and enforceable. The Republicans have been hard at work in charge of pushing forward with their agenda of applying ridiculous and unenforceable legislation aimed at shutting down any hopes of making online gambling legal within the United States.

Washington State Representative Jim McDermott has also sought to push forth legislation that will repeal all of the unenforceable nonsense of the UIGEA and the taxation of online casinos. Many other politicians have made a point of trying to introduce legislation that will legalize online poker and online gambling in general.

Since the democrats will be assuming complete control of both the Senate and the House in addition to the White House, players and online casino operators alike are looking on with earnest hope that things will finally go their way. Although they might have to wait until the economy settles down and the situation in Iraq gets figured out, surely some big and positive changes will be on the way.
