Five Teams With Netplay For Gambling

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

While most hardcore fans of online casinos are able to take advantage of the awesome satellite qualifiers that come around from time to time, there is a new idea out on the market that is causing quite a commotion these days. It seems that the next frontier in terms of online casino gambling revolves around one company’s intention to broadcast interactive casino gambling.

Apparently Television station Five is going to join forces in the near future with Netplay to bring their loyal following of avid casino gamers a special interactive experience that will unite the broad reach of television with the fun and thrill-seeking nature of gambling. What more could you possibly ask for?

Five is mostly known for its superb late-night programming and they have plans in the works to showcase Netplay casino gambling no fewer than three times each and every week. This will take place from roughly midnight to four in the morning. And there is an open-ended portion of the agreement that could push to bring this gambling feature up to as many as six evenings each week. That could happen as early as the month of October if the results from September are encouraging and positive.

This could mean wonderful new things for online casinos everywhere. Having greater access to a wider reach of different audience members could open up the market to a whole new demographic that has previously remained somewhat elusive for one reason or another. This initial test run that Five will conduct is sure to indicate that there is a solid and eager market waiting for something this fabulous to come along.

Bodog Partners With Haydock Sports

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

Bodog has taken yet another step forward in their extensive plans to make a huge push for the business of online casinos in the Asian region. As a crucial part of their business strategy they have aimed to expand their already sizeable presence in Asia and now their investment there has been broadened to a great degree. They have now made the move to join up with one of the top Asian online casino and gaming operator, Haydock Sports Limited. While you may not immediately recognize this company name, they are the ones who are responsible for bringing you the 9play brand.

Based out of Manila in the Philippines, Haydock Sports is headed now by a man named Ian Dunning. Previously, Dunning spent a considerable amount of time with the Victor Chandler group before making the big switch over to Haydock. Everyone at the company is truly excited to have Dunning come on board since he brings with him such a extensive and respectable level of experience, especially since his experience has had a certain amount of focus on the region.

While Bodog, a top contender in the world of online casinos and gambling operations, had been considering several different licensees to partner up with, the folks at Haydock Sports felt that they were the strongest candidate from among the contenders who were vying for the partnership. For online casino players in Asia, this new development could mean many new and exciting things to come their way sometime in the near future. Haydock has signed on to provide the exclusive license to the Bodog brand for the Asian region as far as Internet casinos are concerned.

Founder of Betcha.com Faced Many Battles

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Before being found to not be in violation of the Washington state online gambling laws, the folks over at Betcha.com had experienced quite a string of bad luck. But hopefully this recent ruling in a Washington state appellate court means that things are shifting toward being in Betcha.com’s favor. The purpose of the site is to match up people who love playing games at online casinos and engaging in betting with each other. This set-up is quite different from what other online casinos have going on their sites. Instead of betting against the house which is the more common system at casinos, bettors come on and bet against each other.

The casino and  betting site depends somewhat on an honor code where players can rate each other and people with poor ratings are basically shut out of participating. But authorities in Washington state were quite suspicious of the site and after being online in the online casino world for only a few short weeks, the folks at the Washington State Gambling Commission came in and shut her down. But with this ruling, it seems that the law is finally coming over to Betcha.com’s side. But this situation is only resolved on a temporary basis since the gambling commission has already pledged that it will push forward and attempt to appeal the case at the state supreme court level.

The site was shut down back in 2007 and the site’s founder, Nicholas Jenkins was actually extradited to Louisiana to confront charges that had been pressed against him for his work regarding Betcha.com. He has not had an easy time of it, for sure. Although many other Internet casinos have faced a bit of legal trouble here and there, not many have had to battle this hard.

Illinois State Lottery May Go Online

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

The world of online casinos and internet gambling may come to center stage in President Barack Obama’s home state as Illinois makes a move toward having their state lottery be available online. This notion is relatively unheard of and it presents many interesting ideas in a climate that has been pretty harsh toward online casino operators and players alike. This began as an idea that would help increase revenue for the state at a time when the economy is continuing on in its downward spiral and unemployment is rising to dangerous new heights.

This expansion of the state lottery would involve selling the tickets online, but this idea may end up going nowhere if the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act manages to stand in its way. Although this venture has the potential to double the revenue that is normally earned from the state lottery that is run in the traditional way, there are many people that would be opposed to this proposal and several of them are members of our government.

Look at all the strife that is happening over in New Hampshire as they have tried to go forward with a similar plan. Credit card companies have been struggling with customers being able to buy up lottery tickets over the internet and the entire purpose of the UIGEA is to squelch any form of online casino gambling. Online casinos all over the world have suffered from this legislation and now it seems as though the state of Illinois may be the latest victim. If they have any success with this venture, it could be good news to casino players.

Bets Are On For This Year’s SuperBowl

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

While many people will be gathered in front of their televisions sets on Superbowl Sunday watching all the cool commercials and scandalous half-time performances, many other folks out there will be glued to their favorite online casinos, poker rooms and sportsbooks to get in on the action in another way. If you are a big football fan, you know that his big event is the ultimate climax of an amazing season of professional football. It will be the champion of the NFC versus the champion of the AFC. Needless to say, a lot of people have placed their bets on who they think the winner will be. Millions of people have laid money down and are hoping that the game goes their way.

This year’s big contest will be between the Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Whoever comes out on top will win the championship title and a huge bulky ring to impress their friends with. Players from online casinos and sportsbetting sites are waiting eagerly for the game to begin so they can see how their odds come out. And for those people in Las Vegas for the weekend, you can bet there are some awesome casino action devoted to the outcome of the superbowl game as well.

Many people feel that the Steelers are the obvious favorite to win this contest since this will be their 7th appearance in the big championship game. In their last six efforts, they have won five times. Those are pretty strong odds going into this game. The last time they won was back in 2006. But the Cardinals are fired up and are out to prove all the naysayers wrong.

Bet24.com Scores European Union License

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

While it has reportedly been quite difficult to score a European Union license even as a quality upstanding online casino, the clever people over at Bet24.com have managed to do just that. Although it is already regarded as one of the top online casinos and poker rooms around, this latest achievement will surely push Bet24.com into the next level of success. They have now been officially credited by the British territory of Gibraltar.

For quite some time it was not mandatory for European players at online casinos to pay any sort of taxes on the money they won if they were playing on a casino site that was licensed by a nation or territory that belonged to the European Union. Now, with this latest development, players from Bet24.com can go for the glory without being required to pay any taxes on their winning piles of cash. This should open the casino and poker site up to a whole slew of new players.

Being in possession of a European Union license is a rare thing for the most part and it is a distinction that is highly coveted. With this change, all of the products at Bet24.com are licensed through the European Union. Since the requirements for obtaining one of these licenses is so rigorous and strict, many casinos shy away from getting them, but if you remain diligent and do all the hard work and mow through the bureaucratic red tape, it can actually happen eventually. Bet24.com has mainly courted players from Scandinavia over the years and it turns out that this tax issue was a make or break element for many of their players.

Saturday, January 24th, 2009

A recent partnership has been initiated within the world of online casinos. This time it is between the highly regarded gaming company Betsafe and OnGame, an operation based out of Australia that is devoted to casino and poker. In the past, Betsafe has belonged underneath the Cryptologic umbrella. They had a good thing going for more than two years, but recently the people in charge at Betsafe decided to choose another path into the future. They considered many different options but as soon as the idea of partnering with OnGame came to their table, it was a done deal.

OnGame has had a huge amount of success in the field of online casinos. The people at Betsafe had determined that through a relationship with OnGame Network, that would surely put them right in the position they wanted to be in to gain a better hold within the highly competitive online casino market. Churchill Downs Starts Up Online Gambling Subsidiary

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

A new era seems to have begun in the gambling world within the state of Kentucky but this time the tables have turned and it appears as though the shift will include a new focus on online gambling. He company Churchill Downs has recently announced that they will be developing a subsidiary that will have an emphasis on the highly lucrative Internet gambling scene. As a company that has made quite a mark on a very competitive and relatively exclusive industry, it seems like a natural progression to focus on racing, entertainment, gaming and now specifically online gaming.

This brand new subsidiary that will be created b Churchill Downs is going to have a man named Steven Sexton placed at the helm of a potentially very lucrative ship. Sexton also currently serves as the racetrack president for Churchill Downs. Beyond just his role as head of the online gambling subsidiary, Sexton will also pay close attention to regular casino gambling and the various concerts and other entertainment events that take place at Churchill Downs.

This exciting news was surely met with gloom by the Kentucky governor Steve Beshear who has been doing everything in his power to bring down the online gambling industry within the state of Kentucky. This will be regarded as quite an overwhelming setback. Beshear has long lectured as to the woes and inherent evils that online gambling can incite, especially the threat that the industry potentially has over the bright young people of Kentucky. There are seen as particularly vulnerable to the terrible vice of online gambling.
