Frank’s Legislation Pushed Back Further

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

No matter how hard Representative Barney Frank tried to get his agenda for reforming the policies in place for online casinos in America, it seems that he keeps being met with setback after setback. While the outlook for his efforts to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and to regulate and license online casino sites seems to be making substantial progress, all is not yet written. He has managed to garner a considerable amount of support that is coming from both sides of the aisle, but with pressing issues such as the dreary economy and the endless debacle that is health care in America, it seems as though this particular topic is going to remain some time longer on one of the back burners as far as the United States government agenda is concerned.

This does not mean that all hope is lost. Many online casinos and players alike have been following these developments with great focus and attention to detail. Everyone is ready to jump right in and make a whole lot of money as soon as the market gets opened up, but that time is definitely not now. It had been said that we were looking at sometime later on this fall as the time when issues involving internet casino gambling for Americans in America would be addressed, but that is perhaps no longer in the cards.

No matter how hard Frank has worked and how intensely he has pressed to bring the date forward on dealing with this issue, his efforts have for the most part been made in vain. Now murmurings are out and about that this online gambling legislation may not be addressed until sometime later on in 2010. That would be quite crushing to many casino operators and players alike who have been pinning their hopes on a speedy resolution of this situation, but now it seems that they will have to call upon some heightened level of patience to get through this.

U.S. Online Casino Regulation Advances

Wednesday, July 29th, 2009

Despite all of the falsities and outright lies that anti-gambling activists continue to throw out, completely disregarding the proven facts from studies involving the effects of playing at online casinos, there is a lot of progress being made on the other side of the coin. Led by Representative Barney Frank, the effort to get the online casino business properly regulated and licensed within the United States is getting closer and closer to becoming a reality. Of course, the battle is far from over.

Many people who oppose online casinos would have you believe that they are the reason for all the evil that exists right now in the world. However, as Frank is able to bring more and more politicians from both sides of the aisle onto his side in this matter, it seems that more and more people are beginning to realize that more than anything else, internet casinos hold a great deal of potential for America in terms of the revenue they could generate if they are regulated, licensed and taxed. The cause is gaining ground in numerous regions throughout the country.

While it has been largely a marginalized issue thanks to the threat of the horrible economy, global warming and the ongoing situations in Iraq and Afghanistan, it is shifting over and actually being covered by the national news media. Having a system of regulation in place for internet casinos could mean that the American economy could have a new avenue to explore in terms of generating revenue and getting back in shape fiscally. Who knows how much longer it will take before this thing finally comes into fruition, but everyone is eager to see that day come to pass.
