Thursday, January 20th, 2011Things are definitely moving forward in the state of New Jersey when it comes to moving further down the path towards legalizing and regulating online casinos. The state of New Jersey could become the first state in the United States to fully legalize online casino gambling. This effort has taken a major step forward after a 29 to 5 vote in favor of the bill that was recently proposed by one of the Senators of New Jersey. The bill aims to allow all of New Jersey state residents and non-visiting not American visitors to gamble at online casinos using servers that are located at a variety of land based casinos in Atlantic City.
This will hopefully be a successful effort to boost revenue and land-based casinos in Atlantic City in addition to bringing in lots of extra gaming revenue due to the large appeal of Internet gambling access. The bill also includes an amendment to bring about a 15% taxation on all gross gaming revenue. All in all, this could be a major win-win situation for everyone involved. This could also point to the future of online casinos and the legalization efforts in other states across America.
As many gambling destinations on an international level opener doors to online casinos, the United States is definitely not at the forefront of this movement,. But hopefully, with efforts like these, things will move forward in a positive way and 2011. For now, all we can do is speculate and remain hopeful about this development going all the way. Many people are hopeful that the bill will be signed by the governor in the very near future. Then New Jersey residents will be able to go for the glory and play their heart out at a variety of casino games including craps, slots games, baccarat, roulette, and poker.
