Numbers Improve Slightly For Nevada

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Things are looking for online casinos and land based casinos across the industry. Many people are predicting that a major economic recovery in terms of the online casino gambling industry is going to take place in the near future. Although many online operations have remained relatively unscathed and untouched during these troubled financial times, the same cannot be said for land based casino operations specifically when it comes to revenue earnings for the state of Nevada and Las Vegas gambling in particular. But, it seems that all is not lost.

Apparently, the Nevada Gaming Control Board recently released their numbers for 2010 and things are not as bad as everyone had previously thought. It seems that the revenue figures jumped up just slightly over the course of the last year. This is a major boost in terms of the hope that we are able to muster as we move deeper in the printed 2011.

Online casinos have managed to get through this economic recession but the same experience has been quite different for land based casinos, particularly those located within major gambling destinations across the United States such as Las Vegas, Reno, or even Atlantic City over on the East Coast in New Jersey.

With this slight increase in profits, everyone is hoping against hope that they will be able to achieve better numbers for 2011. So far, we are just barely getting into the third month of the year so most predictions are mere speculation at this point. But keep your fingers crossed that they can continue to improve their revenue numbers when it comes to land based casino gambling.

Nevada Casino Revenue Dips Up

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

After suffering through a bleak and seemingly dismal and continuous decline when it comes to revenue, it seems that things are finally starting to improve ever so slightly for land based casino operations in the state of Nevada. As online casinos sort ahead and achieve dramatic accomplishments in the gambling industry, land-based casinos are not faring quite so well.

One of the reasons why the online casino market has managed to thrive while land-based casino operations declined is because people are not leaving their homes as much to take part in the festivities involved in land-based casino gambling environments. The numbers released from the Nevada gaming control Board for 2010 indicate that there has been a slight improvement over the previous year.

Although this is a very subtle change for the better, many industry insiders are hoping that this slight improvement will bring about more positive changes to come as we move deeper into her into 2000 811. Online casinos are charging ahead and land-based casinos need to do what they can in order to keep up with the competition. It seems that the total gaming when her last year hit at about $10.4 billion.

That is a very slight .1% increase compared to what the land-based casino industry in the state of Nevada was able to achieve during 2009. For 2010, most of the major improvements were focused right on the Las Vegas strip. That is where revenues were able to increase by 4.1%. It’ll be interesting to see how Las Vegas players in the months ahead during 20011.

12.7% Revenue Drop In Nevada

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

Although many people are holding out hope for the future of land based casinos in the state of Nevada, it seems that the most recent report bring about some disappointing decline in revenue. According to the most recent report involving statistics from the month of November 2010, it seems that there was a 5.9% decrease in revenue. This definitely a downward spin on the motivation and hope that people were beginning to muster for a potential recovery in the near future.

At online casinos continue to thrive and lurch during times of deep financial troubles for many Americans and people elsewhere internationally, times have definitely been hard for land based casino operations. Online Casino gambling sites not have to worry about special ways to bring in customers physically. They just have to offer up some fancy advertisements in well-placed locations and the business will come to them.

It seems that the troubled and astute Nevada Gaming Control Board has indicated that the state was able to collect a respectable 49.8 million in the form of taxes for land based casino gambling revenue. But when you take into account that that figure has dropped down 12.7% from where it was just a year ago, that is not exactly encouraging. Although online casinos are not taking any major financial hits, land based casinos with in the state of Nevada and especially along the Las Vegas strip are in a rough financial position. Hopefully, we will be able to move toward some semblance of her recovery in the near future.

November Revenue Poor For Nevada

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Although many people had been raising their hopes in regard to the future of Las Vegas casinos and other casino gambling businesses located throughout the state of Nevada, it seems that the most recently released reports dating back to November of 2010 show a disappointing development.

With the increasing competition posed by online casinos and rival state gambling opportunities, things have been pretty rough when it comes to revenue numbers for land based casino operations in the state of Nevada. Online casino businesses have not taken very much of a hit during seemingly bleak and endless economic recession that we are mired in across America. But the same cannot be said for land based casinos in Las Vegas and Nevada.

It seems that according to the November 2010 statistics for land-based gambling in Nevada, there was a 5.9% decline in revenue. This may seem like the most surefire way to slice through all of the tentative hopes that people had begun to grow in our hearts over the state of gambling for this region. Online casinos, on the other hand continued to thrive and move forward with developing as a huge and monstrously successful industry.

It seems that the Nevada Gaming Control Board has indicated that the state of Nevada was able to collect nearly $49.8 million in taxes from casino gambling revenue for the month of November. That may seem like a lot, but that is not very much considering that that is down 12.7% from just one year ago. This means that we are not moving anywhere closer to a swift and steady economic recovery. The predictions for positive growth has proven to be false so far.

Nevada Casino Revenue Drops Again

Tuesday, September 21st, 2010

Way back in the day, it seemed as though the Nevada casino industry was almost entirely immune to any sort of financial woes or threats that would ravage other business industries in the nation. Now it seems that online casinos hold that particular honor of being almost entirely immune. Online casino operations have been able to remain relatively unscathed throughout our current bleak in seemingly endless economic recession. It has become quite evident, however, that the Nevada casino gambling industry has not been able to hold on to its immunity status.

The financial troubles that have gripped the nation have left Las Vegas land based casinos and an incredibly more harmful situation. Many other nations are facing considerable troubles with their on financial circumstances. In this effort, they have pushed toward opening up and liberalizing their stance on online casinos. In this regard, the United States government remains decidedly behind the times. But even with the threat of Internet casino gambling booming on the Rison, land based casinos have been left out in the cold on a number of different levels.

Apparently, for the straight third fiscal year in a row, casinos within the state of Nevada has been experiencing sharp declines in revenue. Back in June, it was reported that the revenue for gambling operations in Nevada had dropped by nearly 7%. This means that compared to the numbers that were brought in for 2009, the overall total decline this current fiscal year is now at 4.3%. This is the sort of financial trouble that many industries have a very hard time recovering from. At this point in time, there is no hope on the horizon.

Nevada Figures For March Not Great

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

While it was a relatively heartening month that fostered a great deal of optimism in terms of the hoped-for Nevada gambling revenue, when reports came out for the financial figures for the performance during the course of the month of March, that hope was greatly diminished. The new numbers, recently released by the Nevada Gaming Control Board, indicate that a sharp decline in gambling revenues took place across the board.

While the actual decrease amounted to less than 1%, this is still is not a reassuring sign for many major movers and shakers and operators within the land based casino industry in the state of Nevada. While the continuing economic recession seems to be one of the main triggers for this decline, the competition with online casinos remains a center role in this particular development as well. Online casino gambling sites have been relatively immune and have come through this financially troubling time relatively unscathed.

The same cannot be said for land based casino operations based within the state of Nevada. Both visitor numbers and casino revenue for Las Vegas and many other gambling locations throughout the state of Nevada have been in a sharp decline for quite some time. They simply cannot compete with the flexibility and convenience that online casinos supply. Overall, the first quarter of 2010 brought about a 3% increase in statewide revenues and a 9% increase on the Las Vegas strip. All in all this is a good start, but it could be much stronger. They are still far away from where they were just a few short years ago but so far 2010 holds a great deal of promise.
