Station Casinos Has Poor 1st Quarter

Friday, May 21st, 2010

It seems that while the gambling market devoted to online casinos is going steady and strong, the same cannot be said for many land-based casino operations located in the heart of Las Vegas. Many major casino operations have recently come out with public announcements that detail the bleak and sometimes simply disastrous performance as far as the first quarter of 2010 has gone so far. The online casino operations that are having to make these same sort of announcements are few and far between at this point in time.

This has been an epic era to capitalize on the charming appeal and popularity and flexibility of online casinos. Land-based casinos in Las Vegas, however, are not fairing quite as well. For example, Station Casinos Inc. recently indicated that the company somehow managed to lose a total of $53.5 million over the course of the first financial quarter for the year of 2010. This development is underscored by the fact that the firm had to drop an astonishing $19.3 million to go toward bankruptcy reorganization.

That is a huge portion of their earnings that they have had to toss out just to try to keep their business afloat. It will be interesting to see what sort of turns and twists this company has t make once we get deeper and deeper into the second financial quarter of 2010. Hopefully business will pick up soon. For now, everyone is eager to witness some semblance of a recovery so that business can move forward and not dwell on this poor financial performance. Station Casinos Inc. will hopefully be able to bounce back in a major way soon.
