Blue Square Offers Casino & Sports Book

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

It is a very straightforward and basic idea: you take a sports book and combine it with the best that online casinos have to offer and you come up with one of the most exciting and entertaining online gambling sites that has been going strong for quite some time. The name of this thrilling new online casino sports book hybrid venture is Blue Square and it is already creating a great deal of buzz in the industry.Whether you wish to place a wager on some of your very favorite sporting events that are taking place that particular week or you just want to dig in and get in on some super awesome casino gaming action, the choice is yours. And best of all, this is all available on one stellar site. You don’t have to juggle around a bunch of different windows at the same time. You can go back and forth with ease and you play and wager your heart out.

This may be a sing of what is to come for online casinos in the future. Blue Square has picked up on a remarkable trend that is happening in the industry. Online sports book sites are receiving traffic from some of the top casino gambling sites on the market so coming up with a site that offers some one-stop-shopping to meet all of a customer’s gaming and betting needs was a spectacular yet simple notion that has turned into something truly wonderful and potentially highly profitable. Ever since the early days of 2004, Blue Square has been offering their clients both an opportunity to play their top casino games and also use their sports book capabilities as well. It is a win-win situation for everybody involved, except for their rivals, of course.

Stimulus Package Excludes Casinos

Thursday, January 29th, 2009

It seems as though casinos were left out in the cold as far as being able to receive some love from the $825 bilion stimulus package that is working its way through the government. The new administration under President Barack Obama seems to be sending the message that no one in Congress is going to be able to get their issues brought to the forefront of the equation. While the message was not written in big bold sharpie letters, it came through loud and clear. Casinos, including online casinos and poker rooms, were left out of the list of recipients of specially targeted state funds.

One congressman was quite disappointed with this development. Harry Reid, a Senate Majority Leader who represents Nevada, sees the casino industry as a huge player in the health of his state’s economy. With the national financial situation as gloomy as it has been, many online casinos and land-based casinos have taken quite a hit in business. Casinos in the state of Nevada are huge providers of jobs. Giving a boost to the casino industry would be helping create new jobs for many people who live in Nevada and find themselves under or unemployed.

None of the spending in the bill for the stimulus package has been earmarked to go towards casinos. But, misery loves company. Casinos were not the only ones left out in the cold. Some other groups excluded from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act include aquatic centers, zoo renovations, skateboard parks, horse paths and museum renovations.

Indiana Casinos Face Hard Times During Economic Crisis

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

While people everywhere all over the world are reeling from the financial situation here in America and abroad, the casino industry is by no means immune to these hard times. With the dramatic drop of the stock market, the foreclosure scares, skyrocketing unemployment, bank buyouts, bailouts and credit crunch, the gambling industry is definitely taking a hit. While in the past, most economic bumps in the road were met with vigor and ingenuity and promptly overcome, the current financial crisis has left many casino business owners shaking their head in dumbfounded uncertainty. Perhaps more than most other industries in the nation, casinos are feeling the stress and pressure of this unrelenting cash crunch.

One place where casino operators are really feeling the heat is the state of Indiana. Casinos in this state have worked diligently to create their own special offering to the casino market – to set themselves apart from the everyday selections. For their efforts, they have been routinely rewarded with good business and a devoted following among players. However, as the economy continues to worsen, revenue numbers for 2008 are down considerably from what they were this same time last year.

Industry insiders report that the overall loss in wealth of its faithful customer base is the main cause for this sharp downturn. While the situation has not reached the point where anyone is predicting that any of the casinos will shut down for loss of revenue, they are definitely going to have to make some drastic changes in order to stay afloat during these tough times. That will mean slicing through staff numbers and maintaining shorter hours of operation.
