Singapore Men Arrested In Gambling Raid

The last week brought about the arrest of ten different men. The police, in this latest battle against online casino gambling also managed to confiscate a substantial amount of computers and assorted computer-related items in addition to collecting a bunch of cash that was used in the illegal casino and sports gambling operation. The police have insisted that this raid was very effective for their goal of disabling the football betting gambling ring.This event is just one of many recent attempts to try to halt the incidents of illegal online casinos and sports gambling scenarios that Singapore is trying to eradicate one by one. To date some 1,566 different arrests have been made in relations to illegal casino gambling and other betting incidents. Most of these betting situations have involved the Internet. For this latest episode of bringing justice to the streets of Singapore, the ring involved soccer bets that were taking place on an unidentified website, And the secret and illegal financial transactions were being funnelled through a series of bank transfers.
All of the arrests involved men from Singapore. The men arrested were collected after the Criminal Investigations Department had conducted a series of raids in flats and condo units in a few select places throughout Singapore. The syndicate leader, the punters and the bookies in connection to this casino and sports betting ring were also arrested in the process. Somewhere around $115,000 worth of cash was confiscated plus numerous desktop computers and other office supplies that had kept the illegal business going strong for quite some time.
