The United Kingdom, which is home to a thriving industry of online casinos and bingo halls, is not the only spectacular virtual destination for players. The United States, despite having so many obstacles in place such as the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act to curb such devious online casino activities, is still in possession of a burgeoning online gambling business. Despite the hard times that have hit across the nation in terms of the recession, there are some businesses that seem to be holding up rather well in these dark financial times. One of the most resilient and seemingly untouchable industries within the United States is that of online casinos and poker rooms. Over the course of the last decade the Internet casino gambling sector of the national economy has performed remarkably well. In fact, it has arguably soared past anyone’s initial expectations in regard to how big the potential was for growth and expansion.

And this has all occurred at a time when the government that has been in place, the woeful Bush administration, has done seemingly everything in its power to squelch any and all casino gambling and betting enterprises that take place online. The UIGEA was supposed to put the pressure on banks and other financial institutions so that casino players would have no means of depositing or withdrawing money from their gambling accounts, but this aim has not really come together. The Internet casino players are incredibly savvy and they have found countless ways to bypass the systems in place that attempt to make things more difficult.
