The changes proposed would mean that online gambling operators would be prohibited from accepting bets that have been placed with a credit card. They would also involve providing gambling perks like earning $1,000 worth of free bets. Also, there would be a considerable amount of emphasis placed on getting the staff properly trained to help ensure that the gambling that does take place is responsible gambling. There has been an extensive amount of criticism thrown at the online gambling industry for not having enough checks and balances in place to sustain some level of accountability.

With the lack of regulation for online casinos, there has developed a huge disparity between the online gambling operations and their land-based rivals. All of the current figures support this allegation and it has resulted in quite an indignant outcry from those folks who represent the land-based casino contingent. Online casino wagering numbers have risen substantially in Australia after Betfair came out victorious in a court case that resulted in given them full permission to conduct their business in Australia.
