The chapter of the online casino industry giant Ladbrokes’ legal battle with the state monopoly of Norway may finally have closed for good. It seems that Ladbrokes, a company that is responsible for bringing some of the top online casinos in the entire business, has finally after five miserably long and endless years has dropped its effort to bring down that particular monopoly. But the casino gambling company has at the same time committed itself to continuing to fight the good fight through other means.

For online casinos, when a country tries to maintain some sort of monopoly, that is something that you really just can’t manage to support. This is especially the case for nations that are members of the European Union. They have special protective guidelines in place to establish a sense of forced camaraderie so that nations are not overly tempted to work the system and violate the trade agreements that have been put so carefully into place.

While Ladbrokes has decided to ease off it is direct fight against Norway, it has made a push to join up with some of their fellow casino operators to battle against other existing monopolies throughout the European region. As one of the top internet casino bookies in the business, Ladbrokes made the difficult decision to forgo their efforts in regard to the Norwegian monopoly because they have been discouraged due to certain recent court decisions such as the one that happened for the gambling regulations of Portugal. Monopolies are difficult entities to fight within the European Union law and they decided that their energies would be better used in other areas.
