Gulf Coast Casinos Suffer Revenue Loss
Posted on: April 25th, 2009 1:11 pm | By: helenIn the heart of the gulf coast region of the United States, the difficult times related to the current state of the national economy have brought the revenue of the land-based casinos located there down to sad and pathetic levels. All told, there has been a 16% decline in revenues if you compare this past month of March for 2009 to the same month from last year. And this news stings particularly fierce when you think about how online casinos everywhere are doing just fine and are fact growing in business despite the woes of the economy here. Online casino sites are the places to get your gambling fix and land-based casinos are being left in the dust.
The manager of the Silver Slipper Casino admitted that this development just seems like a sign of the times more than anything else. With less disposable income to throw around, casino players are choosing to stay indoors and pay a visit to online casinos rather than head out of their homes to a land-based casino. It is less of a commitment in terms of extra spending. And many casino operators in the gulf coast region are not the least surprised about the falling numbers.
The vast majority of them saw it coming. But there is now reason to hope because the numbers are getting a little bit better for the month of April, at least when held up and compared to the performance of land-based casinos during the month of March. But everyone who is still involved in the casino market in the area has every intention of staying the course and making a super remarkable comeback. It is just a matter of time before things turn around.
