Intertops Goes Red & Green
Saturday, May 30th, 2009It seems like the buck stops here for Intertops in terms of no longer being able to reject players who reside within the United States. The company has had to watch as other businesses devoted to online casinos continue to thrive and flourish even in this bleak economic state because they are still accepting American players. The plan for the players who frequently visit the online casino magic of Intertops is to have two fabulous choices: the Red version and the Green version. The Red version of the casino will now be letting players who live in the United States come on and have a blast while the Green casino that Intertops will also be operating will only accept players from outside of the United States.Obviously this decision to branch out and return to the American player base that is such a high contributor to so many online casinos on the market has hurt the relationship between Intertops and Microgaming but the officials from Intetops finally came to the point where their long-standing relationship with the casino software developer was just not as important as being able to serve their loyal American players base. It will be interesting to see how this particular business strategy will pay off in the future.
Microgaming was one of the main companies to make the difficult but firm decision to no longer accept American players at any of the casinos that are powered by their software because of the threats that they did not want to risk in relation to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. But now, with the introduction of Congressman Barney Frank’s new bill, the world of Internet gambling in the United States could get turned on its head so it is anybody’s guess what the future will hold.
