Conservative Groups Applaud Seizures

The fight waged against online casinos and the dangerous and devious internet gambling industry never seems to end. Forces like Focus on the Family and other more extremist conservative groups are doing everything in their power to make things difficult for online casino sites, operators and players alike within the United States.

Just recently, these organizations made a grand showing of support for the government when they conducted an unauthorized seizure of payment transaction bank accounts. These accounts contained cash that would have been distributed to online casino gaming clients this very week and now that money is tied up in ridiculous and seemingly endless bureaucracy.

The message that these right-wing groups have sent out is that the government is doig a fantastic job in terms of protecting the safety of children and families everywhere by shutting out thousands upon thousands of people who reside within the United States of money that is rightfully theirs. What sort of delusional, backward thinking is this? Focus on the Family has indicated on their web site that they want to praise officials from the United States government for their efforts to effectively enforce the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

But for anyone out there who is even remotely familiar with the woes associated with the UIGEA know that the phrase “effectively enforce” coupled with “UIGEA” is basically an oxy moron. No one in their right mind could possibly argue that the UIGEA has been the least bit effective in accomplishing its goals. One of its purposes was to make it more and more difficult for casino gamers in America to gain access to their favorite gambling sites and surely, that has not happened. The casino industry within America is stronger than ever.
