Congressmen Show Support For Franks Bill

While the beginning of the month of May this year brought about some positive action in terms of some good things happening for online casinos and the gambling industry in general for laws within the United States, everything is still hanging in the balance. Congressman Barney Frank’s ultimate goal is to find a way to do away with the horrific Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act that was pushed quickly into law in the final days of the Bush administration’s reign of terror. Now Frank’s latest effort that has been proposed to congress, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act (HR2267) is up for examination.Mnay folks in the world of online casinos are quite hopeful about how this particular bill could end up being received. Frank has managed to acquire the support of many folks on both sides of the aisle on this one. That is a whole lot better than he has fared in the past so many casino players and operators across the nation are heartened by this progress that has been made so far.

To date, some 23 different congressmen and women have stepped up and shown their support for the bill. Some of the supporters include Joseph Crowley, Michael McMahon, Bob Filner and Shelley Berkely. As far as Republicans are concerned, a good strong number have climbed on board of the wagon to indicate that they approve of the ideas behind this particular bill. This has great significance for the future of Internet casinos everywhere, but particularly within the United States.
