A new era seems to have begun in the gambling world within the state of Kentucky but this time the tables have turned and it appears as though the shift will include a new focus on online gambling. He company Churchill Downs has recently announced that they will be developing a subsidiary that will have an emphasis on the highly lucrative Internet gambling scene. As a company that has made quite a mark on a very competitive and relatively exclusive industry, it seems like a natural progression to focus on racing, entertainment, gaming and now specifically online gaming.

This brand new subsidiary that will be created b Churchill Downs is going to have a man named Steven Sexton placed at the helm of a potentially very lucrative ship. Sexton also currently serves as the racetrack president for Churchill Downs. Beyond just his role as head of the online gambling subsidiary, Sexton will also pay close attention to regular casino gambling and the various concerts and other entertainment events that take place at Churchill Downs.

This exciting news was surely met with gloom by the Kentucky governor Steve Beshear who has been doing everything in his power to bring down the online gambling industry within the state of Kentucky. This will be regarded as quite an overwhelming setback. Beshear has long lectured as to the woes and inherent evils that online gambling can incite, especially the threat that the industry potentially has over the bright young people of Kentucky. There are seen as particularly vulnerable to the terrible vice of online gambling.
