A very lucky mane by the name Richard Ames recently struck some major luck in the world of online gaming. It was just announced by the popular and substantial fixed-odds betting company Ladbrokes that Ames has been appointed to its board of directors. Previously he has served as the managing director of United Kingdom and Ireland retail. This new change in position was scheduled to take place on the first day of 2009.

The officials at Ladbrokes reported that their corporate development director, Alan Ross, would not be going for re-election to the firm’s board of directors so a spot opened up. After serving the company for a respectable 37 years, he was readying himself to retire. In his role of corporate development director a young 34-year-old man named Chris Palmer will be filling in. Palmer has most recently been head of running Northamptonshire’s Towcester Racecourse.

Ames, at 38 years of age, came to the company in January of the year 2005. He has been at the helm of a handful of important initiatives that have helped make sure that the retail end of the business is performing at its full potential. This has been a vital detail since they are involved in such an intensely competitive market. Since Ames has extensive experience in retail management at the level of a senior executive, he was the obvious pick for the position. The rest of the people who are a part of Ladbrokes are very pleased with his qualifications and all that is going to bring them. He possesses an incredible amount of expertise in both retail and also in retail bookmaking. He should end up being a tremendous asset to the company.
