A lifetime Florida resident, Jeremy has been writing about the entertainment and tourism industries since 2006. Born in Lake Worth, raised in Edgewater, and currently residing in Orlando, Jeremy can't bring himself to leave the beaches, bad drivers, afternoon thunderstorms and sandals as business attire that we associate with the Sunshine State.
Jeremy has experience gambling, such as deciding to major in Creative Writing, something his friends with MBA's always insisted would never lead to a job. Jeremy has also bet on love on various occasions, but always ends up losing his shirt. It seems that there are no safe bets in the game of love. Jeremy has made a few other gambles that did not pay off, though he still insists that Beta is superior to VHS. He does, however, regret his idea that General Motors was a sound investment because it had nowhere to go but up.
Jeremy has been covering local and national bands for a music magazine since 2006, helping readers decide whether to buy the new albums or avoid the risk and simply download it from the internet for free. That is a joke, of course, because that would be illegal, and Jeremy, the son of a retired police officer, was raised to respect and obey the law. Writing about entertainment always seemed like destiny for Jeremy. After all, he so inspired Pearl Jam in their formative years that they named their 1991 hit after him. To this date, however, the band refuses to acknowledge that the song is named after him or even that they knew him. That would hurt the feelings of most people, but Jeremy has thick skin.
A masterful writer, Jeremy earned the Future Hemingway Foundation Award Recipient from his university, an award that was created solely for the purpose of giving it to Jeremy. Though he considered it an honor, Jeremy declined to accept the award, citing that he did not like Hemingway and thought “he was a hack.” To date, there has been no response from the Hemingway Foundation.
Jeremy has been a frequent visitor to casinos, both online and brick and mortar. He is no threat to the casinos, however, because he only bets small amounts of money. This is not because Jeremy is afraid of risking large amounts of money, though. It is because he is poor. It seems that even those writers who turn down prestigious awards aren't assured of amassing wealth. Jeremy is not bitter, though, because he is not materialistic. For him, gambling isn't about winning or losing money; it is about the thrill of the bet. Whether he wins or loses money is irrelevant as long as he enjoyed playing. It is this passion for life that affects everything Jeremy does. Everything in life is a gamble. The real loss would be not playing.
